Dear Fiat Friends:
Tom and I and Kevin and Holly Rich and my brother, Danny O’Donnell, would be pleased to have you join us for our 2009 Fiat Weekend to be held starting in Shelburne, New Hampshire on Friday, July 17, 2009 and ending Sunday, July 19, 2009.
Many of you know my brother, Danny O’Donnell, and for those of you heading north to Maine, he will be leading a group of Fiat friends as he did last year. If it’s convenient for you to join him, please contact him for arrangements at his business, Fun Imported Auto & Toys (FIAT) at 860-871-1990. In a forthcoming e-mail we will include directions from the north and the south to the hotel in Shelburne where accommodations have been secured for your convenience.
Final information regarding our 2009 Maine Fiat Weekend is still to follow. As our off-site weekend last year was such a success we are again planning an off-site event. Kevin and Holly have put a lot of work and organization into this year’s run and we hope after reviewing the information we’ve provided that you will decide to join us.
Two reminders this year for the weekend: 1) It is again necessary to have FLU insurance coverage for this particular weekend. I understand that not everyone is a member of the FLU organization (Fiat Lancia Unlimited), nor are you required to carry an annual membership with them, however, they do offer day memberships to cover events such as our Fiat Weekend which gives the group liability insurance coverage. Because of the importance of this requirement for this year’s Fiat Run, the day membership fee this year is already included in the registration cost noted below. If you are a non-member, I will have day registration forms for FLU available when you sign in Friday night. If you are not a member please plan on completing this additional form. Should you decide to join FLU, this money is applied as a credit against a membership. If you are already a member, please make sure you checkmark affirmatively and include your membership number on the forthcoming pre-registration form. If you are already a FLU member, $5.00 can be deducted from the registration cost. 2) As an event under FLU guidelines, this is a non-alcoholic event. Last year, many of us had wine with dinner Saturday night, this year that will not be an option.
The cost of this year’s weekend is still to be determined, which covers the cost of food and materials provided (and insurance if necessary-again FLU members should deduct $5.00 per person). I will be forwarding another e-mail with final information shortly and will need your registration funds sent to me for delivery no later than July 1, 2009. We will need to confirm numbers with restaurants, etc for our dinner reservation on Saturday night and for plans on Sunday. If you miss the July 1 deadline and still would like to join us, please call or e-mail me so I know you are planning on attending.
Jennifer Kadnar is the manager of Hewins Travel in Waterville, Maine and has secured us a contract price of $104.00 per night at the Town and Country Inn. This price is guaranteed through Hewins Travel. Please contact Jennifer or one of her assistants at 1-800-359-2106 and they will reserve a room for you. If you contact the hotel directly a different price will be quoted. Twelve rooms are being held and rooms are on a first come, first served basis so please call to reserve sooner rather than later. A restaurant downstairs in the hotel serves breakfast for additional cost and our run will start from the Town and Country Inn on Saturday morning. The hotel does have a pool so please bring a bathing suit if you are so inclined.
We’re looking forward to a fun weekend and hope to see you there.
